So, after the last journal that was up here, I knew I needed to update with something far less depressing.

I have been struggling with inspiration lately. The creative juices just haven't been flowing. But I'm trying to get myself motivated to do some new stock. With that in mind, I need your input.

Let me begin by saying: I have snakes. Several in fact. I also have access to many, MANY more. I have Boas and Pythons primarily. (Burmese, Reticulated, and a Dumeril's) My brother-in-law manages a place called Prehistoric Pets [link] I could easily get access to anything in their quite large menagerie of critters.

So here is where I need input!

Would reptile/snake stock be beneficial to anyone? If so, in what fashion? (i.e. with a model, by themselves, coiled, striking, feeding, etc.)

So many variations, I need some direction. HELP ME HELP YOU!

I have never been a good sleeper. Insomnia has been somewhat of a way of life for me since I was a teenager. But over the last week, I have noticed it has gotten quite a bit worse. What sleep I have gotten has been plagued with nightmares. Though I don't remember the specific content of the dreams, the fear carries through to when I wake up.

Then two days ago I get this headache that won't stop no matter how many pills I take. I woke up this morning with a feeling of dread that I just couldn't shake.

I got to work and thought I was losing my mind.

Then I noticed the date... It's September...

Every year I get a bit depressed around the first of September and it subsides a few days after the 11th. Normally, I am able to consciously prepare for it. The mental preparation makes the emotions much easier to deal with. But with the baby and everything else going in my life right now, it just kind of snuck up on me.

So, if some have noticed my absence as of late, that's why. I should be back on track in a couple of weeks.

Think of me on the 11th, and take a moment to remember those who weren't as fortunate as I was.

I haven't really mentioned it since then, mostly because it was just too stressful/painful to even talk about. We went through hell over the last 4 months. Mostly because the police accused us of being involved and treated my wife more like a suspect than the victim she was.

A woman who is 8 months pregnant, is kidnapped at gunpoint from her home. So... what do you do? Well accuse her of orchestrating it of course! I really wish I was kidding.

Obviously, they had no evidence because we weren't involved.

The FBI and the Anaheim Police Department came to my home yesterday and apologized to my wife for the way that they treated her. Small consolation.

But, it's over...

Labor was difficult, ending in a C-Section. But Momma is doing well, recovering nicely, and Emma is doing amazing.

We had her two week visit today, and she is doing great on all counts.



Isn't she is beautiful.
